Increased production of synovial fluid is due to an increase of body temperature as we start to do exercise. As the temperature rises it causes reduction of viscosity within the synovial fluid, meaning that the synovial fluid which is like a thick gel or paste during rest becomes thinner, and more watery like acting as a better lubricant within the joints so that they can move more freely, which reduces friction between the articular cartilages. At a higher intensity of exercise, our body temperature rises even further, so there is a bigger increase in synovial fluid production. As synovial fluid production increases, so does the range of movement available at your joints as they become better lubricated and less restricted by friction at the joints.

I have accomplished this for my knee. Just before giving in to knee replacement surgery, a friend told me about dehydration as a possible cause of my pain. The surgeon told me I was worn out! I started drinking 1/4 teaspoon of sea salt in 8 oz of water every day plus increased my water intake to the recommended eight glasses a day. In three days I was in less pain. In ten days I took off the brace and stopped taking celebrex. it has been several months now and I am working full time(carpet cleaning business owner) without any pain. I sleep better, less anxiety as well. Dehydration is a major problem that often goes undetected. Being thirsty is not the first sign of the condition. SALT is also not the enemy it has been made out ot be. For more info there si a book on the subject that is excellent- "Your body's many cries for water". Just read the testimonials on amazon .com to see others' results by increasing water intake.

So far as I know not much aside from increasing your intake of magnesium and zinc. However the reply regarding de hydration does seem to make a lot of sense.

synovial fluid is found in the joints. it lubricates them whilst allowing friction-free movement. when a cars tyre is flat it's only flat at bottom.

The inner membrane of synovial joints is called the synovial membrane and secretes synovial fluid into the joint cavity.

What membrane line the cavities of freely moveable joints?

The synovial membrane lines the freely moveable joint. It produces synovial fluid which allows the joint the movement is makes with ease. The word synovial is based on 'egg' since the fluid looks like egg whites and has that consistency.

What is synoxial fluid?

Synovial fluid is the fluid found in synovial joints, and is secreted by the synovial membrane. The shoulder, elbow, wrist, hip, knee and ankle are synovial joints, as are metacarpo- and metatarsophalangeal and interphalangeal joints.

What happens to joints when there is no synovial fluid?

The membrane type associated with connective tissue is the synovial membrane. This important membrane type is found in the spaces between bone joints and produces a slippery substance called synovial fluid, which greatly reduces friction when joints move.THERE WILL BE NO MOMENT IF SYNOVIAL FLUID IS ABSENT Synovial fluid lubricates hinge joints (knee, elbow and finger joints) ball-and-socket joints (shoulder, hip) and gliding joints (wrist, ankle). Without it, joints would not move freely and would become arthritic.
