A short list of fossil fuel air pollutants includes:
CO2 - from the combustion of carbon
CO - from the incomplete comustion of carbon
NOx - from nitrogen in the fuel and combination of nitrogen in the air with oygen
SOx - from sulphur in the fuel
Particulates - from ash and unburned oil droplets
VOC - from volatilized but unburned fuel
PAH - from uncontrolled cracking and reforming in the flame
Radiation - from uranium in the fuel (coal)
Haze - from condensed liquids and fine particulates
Hydrocarbons - from volatilized but unburned fuels
air pollution is caused by carbon that come from our car.
The burning of fossil fuels accounts for a very large portion of the world's pollution. This burning is accountable for more than 50 percent.
Coal=nearly 30kj/gram
natural gas=50kj/g
because it pollution also
Most countries burn fossil fuels to generate electricity. If they used solar power to generate electricity, thenThey would not have to use so much fossil fuel.Solar Energy itself does not reduce the use of fossil fuels. But the use of solar energy should hopefully reduce the need of fossil fuels to create energy, so therefore the more we can use solar power as an energy source instead of fossil fuels, the more we reduce the use of fossil fuels.
It's because they take millions of years to form - but we're using them up far much faster than they can be created.
Wind power does not harm the envoirment no fossil fuels are burned in the making of energy with wind power = ] i think haha __________ They are non-polluting, renewable and efficient. Not only does the use of renewable energy sources help reduce global carbon dioxide emissions, but they also add some much-needed flexibility to the energy resource mix by decreasing our dependence on limited reserves of fossil fuels. The wind turbines can effectively generate energy as electricity for free as long as the wind is available. The wind is free and renewable, which gives an advantage compared to the contaminating fossil fuel that have already done damage to the earth's ecology. Wind turbines will also start to make a profit if used commercially. Unlike fossil fuels, after you've paid for the turbine they start to make energy which can be sold on to the nation grid for example. In time the amount paid for the turbine would have been recovered and then you're making money using the free energy of the wind. Cool!
Nuclear power does not produce emissions like CO2 and sulphur dioxide that are produced when fossil fuels are burned.
One of the biggest benefits of fossil fuels is their cost. Coal, oil and natural gas are abundant right now and relatively inexpensive to drill or mine for. In fact, coal is the most plentiful fossil fuel and it is found over much of the world. Because the costs are contained, electricity and fuels for transportation and heating are available to everyone.
well that depends compare to solar energy i think fossil fuels make the most energy out of any other kind of energy because they have coal, petroleum, oil and natural gas in wish solar energy depends on the sun and wind energy in the wind that is why fossil fuels produced more energy than any other.

Fossil fuels provide around 66% of the world's electrical power, and 95% of the world's total energy demands (including heating, transport, electricity generation and other uses). xx
I need it for my project too.
Aproximately 85%
47% is natural gas, 28% is coal (2010 figures).
They have been the most efficient energy source available
They have been the most efficient energy source available.
When people do not conserve energy, they are using or wasting the energy. This means that more energy must be produced. The most common way to do this is to burn fossil fuels. Not only are fossil fuels a finite (limited) natural resource, but mining them harms the environment. Also, the waste produced from using so much energy can pollute the environment through physical waste matters, and also with air pollution through emissions.

Benefits: Mostly everything we use in the world needs fossil fuels. Gasoline for cars, energy for light, etc. The world has used it for many years and is still using it.Limitations: Fossil fuels will run out eventually, so if we do not start using renewable energy we could be in BIG trouble! Fossil fuels also harm the planet. It adds too much carbon dioxide to the ozone. Fossil fuels also harm the plants and animals in the planet too.
