C6H12O6 + 6O2 --> 6CO2 + 6H2O ( + the energy currency of the cell, ATP synthesis )

This is the equation of cellular respiration where glucose is oxidized and oxygen reduced while 36 ATP are synthesized from every molecule of glucose. ATP does the cell's work and with this energy locked in the bonds of the ATP molecule you could not live a second.

What are 2 ways that a leaf help a plant survive?

Leaves help a plant survive by facilitating photosynthesis, the process through which they convert sunlight into energy, producing glucose that fuels growth and development. Additionally, leaves play a crucial role in transpiration, where they release water vapor into the atmosphere, helping to regulate the plant's temperature and maintain nutrient uptake from the soil.
