Blood flow, or blood pressure is directly affected by pulse rate or heart rate. If you put your finger under your chin, feel around for a bit till you can detect a pulse, every time you feel that little surge under your fingertips, that's one beat of your heart, one squeeze that propelled the blood out and along your arteries to give your body tissues the oxygen they want and need. Your heart's beats per minute are how many times it's contracting, propelling the blood out and around the circulatory system in your body that is made up of veins and arteries. If your heart is beating too slow (bradycardia), then your blood pressure, your pulse will be low, and you will feel colder, your fingers and toes may be cool to the touch. If your heart is beating too fast (tachycardia) then you may feel dizzy, short of breath, hot and sweaty and your pulse will consequently be raised.
