Hollyleaf gave Leafpool the deathberries because she blamed her for breaking the warrior code by having a forbidden relationship with Crowfeather and giving up her kits. Hollyleaf believed this act brought shame upon ThunderClan and felt it was her duty to punish Leafpool for her actions.
