Well it doesn't actually, I assume mean the appearance of size. If so it's due to the curvature of the lens the light reflects off the lens differently causing the light to bend and make said object appear smaller.
Convex lens
Convex lens make objects look bigger, Concave makes it smaller and farther away
Yes, convex lens make objects loook bigger
A magnifying lens is convex i.e. it bulges outwards. A concave lens would make objects appear smaller.
A convex lens is curved outward on both sides. Also, a convex lens, is used to enlarge objects.
NO, It reduces it's image size
to reduce the strain of your eyes and help to see distanced objects better
Convex lens
reduce the size of objects in the background to make them seem farther away.
Convex lens makes objects appear closer and corrects hyperopia (far-sightedness).
Convex lens make objects look bigger, Concave makes it smaller and farther away
diverging lens

The image seen through a convex lens will appear upright and enlarged when the object being viewed is within the focal length of the lens.
Eyepiece Lens or Ocular Lens is the lens on top. This is use to see the things or objects to observe or to study.
