The manufacturer warns diabetics that synthroid can affect glucose levels, but it fails to tell patients WHAT synthroid does. In my case, I'm pre-diabetic, and going on synthroid jumped my fasting glucose readings up by about 10 points.
I have weined myself off of levothyroxine - I have been off a week and my blood glucose readings have dropped to the point where I am getting off additional Diabetes medications, wondering even if I am a diabetic, being I was put on both meds at the same time....interesting. Vicki
