As the sunlight hits the chlorophyll molecules sunlight is absorbed by a molecule of chlorophyll electrons in the molecule interact with photons of light and are raised to a higher energy level. The electrons are passed from one molecule to another in an electron transport chain producing ATP and NADPH. In case you don't know ATP is what cells mainly use for energy and NADPH is use as an electron carrier.

Light energy is transferred to the electrons in

the chlorophyll molecule, raising the energy of these

electrons. These high-energy electrons make photosynthesis

work.

100% correct answer. Got it from answer book :D. You might want to change some words though since I got it straight from answer book...Its 9th grade biology btw

I'm gonna try to be as not complicated as possible ok

So nutrients and water are all necessary for the process that your asking about which is called photo synthesis as long as the plant which contains the chlorophyll is hydrated the chlorophyll will absorb the sun (it has to absorb co2 as well) and it will create a chemical called glucose(c6 h12 o6) and it will release oxygen into the air but the Sun actually doesnt change it when there is less the chlorophyll will die though and that is why the leaves change color in autumn

What happens to the water and sunlight during photosynthesis process?

Sunlight turns into chlorophyll (food for plants)

What happens when a photon from sunlight strikes a chlorophyll a molecule?

When a photon strikes a pigment molecule such as chlorophyll, the energy from the photon is passed to the chlorophyll. This energy then continues to pass between molecules until it hits the reaction center, where the reaction of photosynthesis' glucose creation occurs.

What happens when a chlorophyll a molecule produce light reaction?

Light reaction is not produced by chlorophyll .

What is the first most immediate thing that happens when light strikes a chlorophyll molecule?

When light strikes a chlorophyll molecule, electrons in the chloroplast get excited.

Contain chlorophyll and are located in the cytoplasm?

The chloroplast contains chlorophyll and is located in the cytoplasm. Photosynthesis happens because of the chloroplast and the chlorophyll captures the energy from the sunlight.

What in the leaf actually traps the sunlight to turn into useful energy?

on the leaf there is chloroplast. inside chloroplast there is chlorophyll. the chlorophyll is the green substance that takes in sunlight. then the chlorplast takes the sunlight from the chlorophyll and uses water and nutrients to make the food for the plant. this system is called photosynthesis. the process happens in the leaf with chloroplast and chlorophyll

What is the organelle that carries out the process of photosynthesis?

chloroplasts, it contains chlorophyll, a green pigment, which helps to absorb sunlight needed to carry out photosynthesis. CHLOROPHYLL. : )

What is the first most immediate thing that happens when light strikes chlorophyl molecule?

When light strikes a chlorophyll molecule, electrons in the chloroplast get excited.

What is the main pigment used in photosynthesis?

Photosynthesis is when a plant (or other type of cell) uses sunlight to make energy. The chloroplasts are the organelles that capture sunlight, and is also the thing that makes a leaf green. This happens because of the pigment of chlorophyll. (I'm in 8th grade btw) :)
