The word equation is

Hydrochloric acid + Magnesium carbonate = magnesium chloride(salt) + water + Carbon dioxide (burp!!!!).

NB Magnesium carbonate is preferredd to magnesium hydroxide as the carbonate is a salt and the hydroxide is an alkali. .

The balanced chemical equation is :-

2HCl(aq) + MgCO3(aq) = MgCl2(aq) + H2O(l) + CO2(g).
