Inergen is a fire suppression system that uses inert, non-toxic gases to extinguish fires. It is a proprietary mixture of Carbon Dioxide, Nitrogen and Argon.
When the system discharges, it is designed to displace normal normal "Air" until the oxygen concentration is below 15%. Below 15% most things are incapable of combustion.
The Main system is the primary fire suppression system. The reserve is backup in case of a depletion or failure of the primary (main) system.
These systems are typically used when a water based system would cause catastrophic property loss such as in a computer server farm, telephony and electrical facilities.
