There are many, many groups and social media for debate and discussion. I am going to recommend two for you (either of which could keep you busy for quite a while) those being the websites reddit.com and metafilter.com.

Apple Insider is a site/forum that deals with news and rumors regarding the Apple company. It does not appear to be an app or any particular software, however you can follow them on Twitter for more updates, so the latter appears to be the popular Social Media forum in question.
