Many spiritual people are obese, actually. Empathic people often try to absorb the negative energy of others, or illnesses, to relieve the pain or discomfort of others. The stress of being a helper/healer and a person who feels the emotions all around them, will, very often, ease the stress with food or sugar and often caring for others more than themselves.
In turn, the intake of too much food (energy), stress and putting others needs in front of their own . . . spiritual people can become and/or stay obese. Thus, as we progress spiritually, we must learn to put on our own mask first. We spiritual people can help a lot more people if we are healthy first.
You can only love others when you love yourself. Love yourself enough to take care of you.
