Adversely Obesity can affect how an adolescent participates in group activities, which can lead to him/her being left out or not chosen until last. This can result in feelings of being not as good as others. They can also be bullied for being different /slow/lazy, again resulting in a poor self esteem. This can lead to underachieving in other areas of their life such as school grades, which reinforces their poor self image resulting in seeking comfort to feel better, say eating food for instance, thus creating a cyclic reinforced chain which in itself causes depression! In addition, obese children may feel peer pressure to fit into the cultural standards of "beauty". These standards may be unobtainable for some people, leading to a struggle for unobtainable perfection. The child may compare their body to others of their age and feel anxious about looking different, which can lead to eating disorders and depression.
Obesity is caused my lack of exercise, too much "junk food", and it could also be genetic. Teens tend to consume more junk-food nowadays, than back let's say, 20 years ago. The commercials and ads make the children and teens want to eat the food.
If you want to loose that weight, one could not each so much quantity, eat more (in order) Vegetables and Fruits. One can also jog for 20-30 minutes everyday.
