Depression treatment usually involves a multi-modal approach. Many times, medication is prescribed, but this should always be done in conjunction with some type of therapy. Other treatments might also be an option, such as light therapy and massage. Each case should be treated on an individual basis by a physician.
Any medication that is intended to treat depression is called an anti-depressant, and there are lots of anti-depressants. If you need one, your doctor or psychiatrist can prescribe one for you.
