As far as I'm aware Parkinson's is a genetic thing I have just recently found out that my son has infantile Parkinson's with dystonia and he will be two in May.

Parkinson's disease in most people is idiopathic (having no specific known cause). However, in a very small proportion of cases, can be attributed to gene defects.

Other factors have been proposed but have been unproven. For example, pesticides.

There is no cure for Parkinson's disease, nor is there a treatment that slows its progression. Many factors can help relieve PD symptoms, at least temporarily
