depends on the bacteria, some bacteria (aerobic) use oxygen, other bacteria (anaerobic) do not grow in the presence of oxygen

The term aerobic means that they use oxygen in metabolism. So not only can they grow in oxygen but they need oxygen to get proper growth

It really depends on the bacteria. Some like a lot, some like just a little and some are killed by it. The amount (or lack of) oxygen must be just right for the best growth.
