Protons have a charge of positive one; electrons, negative one; neutrons, neutral.

Protons and neutrons have about the same mass; electrons are much less massive.

Protons and neutrons have an internal structure -- ie, they are composed of quarks -- while electrons are just themselves. The first two are "hadrons" and the latter is a "lepton."
