"True religion, undefiled before God is this: to visit the orphans and widows in their pain, and to keep oneself unblemished from the world." -James-
If religious people did their job, then they would love their neighbors (anyone they came in contact with) as themselves. Most religious people in America today do not love their neighbors. James in The Bible says these people's religion is vain (fake and useless). If religious people loved everyone as much as they love themselves, then there would be no need for Social Services, children's homes, orphanages, welfare, social security, etc.
This is how religion should bring about social change. Right now, religion in America is just taking up space and wasting oxygen.
