Round worms can cause eosinophilia. They can rob the child of nutrition, specially from poor economical strata. It consumes lot of vitamin a from the host. It can cause abdominal pain and diarrhoea at times. Most serious of all is intestinal obstruction, which is characterized by vomiting, pain in abdomen and absolute constipation.
