By moving a series of keys in a desired order and blowing into the Saxophone by the reed, you can make sound. The buttons are pressed in a sequence in order to make different notes to make a note seem either flat (b) or sharp (#) A Saxophone has a mouthpiece to which a reed is attached. When the player blows the reed vibrates creating a tone. The player changes the tone by pressing the keys, which open and close tone holes. When upper tone holes are open, much of the sound goes through them creating a shorter pipe and in turn a higher pitch. As lower holes are closed the sound is lower and a higher percentage of it comes out of the bell.
