A quick example: Near shore sedimentary is subducted due to the collision of tectonic plates. The sedimentary rock gradually becomes slate from low grade metamorphism due to heat and pressure. The slate then becomes a higher grade metamorphic rock, like schist. If the increase in heat and pressure continue with subduction, the rock will eventually melt. If the product of this melt is erupted by a volcano or becomes a plutonic extrusion and solidifies, it will form an igneous rock.
Sedimentary rock is made into igneous rock when it melts into magma. When a volcano erupts it spews out the magma, which as it cools and crystallises forms igneous rock. This then gets buried under more and more rock, which causes immense pressure and heat, which causes it to turn into metamorphic rock, such as marble, (which is actually the metamorphic rock of granite).
The igneous and metamorphic rocks will have to undergo erosion into grains that settle and become sedimentary rock (with time and pressure).
Any rock can become a metamorphic rock. To become a metamorphic rock the rock must undergo heat and/or pressure, but not so much that the rock melts. Should the rock melt it would become an igneous rock.
It is a Sedimentary rock
igneous
igneous rocks mix with metamorphic rocks and they combine together to make a sedimentary rock. the three themes of science rocks are metamorphic, igneous, and sedimentary.
igneous
A pre-existing, igneous, sedimentary and metamorphic rock.
Igneous rock can weather and become sedimentary rock . Metamorphic rock can be melted in a volcano and become igneous rock. Igneous rock and sedimentary rock can be heated and pressurized to form metamorphic rock.
Igneous rocks are a "finished product". They do not become sedimentary rock - though sedimentary rocks, with heat and pressure can become metamorphic rocks.
Igneous rock can change into sedimentary rock or into metamorphic rock. Sedimentary rock can change into metamorphic rock or into igneous rock. Metamorphic rock can change into igneous or sedimentary rock.
Graphite is a mineral, not a rock that is classified as metamorphic, igneous or sedimentary.
Any rock can become a metamorphic rock. To become a metamorphic rock the rock must undergo heat and/or pressure, but not so much that the rock melts. Should the rock melt it would become an igneous rock.
It is a Metamorphic rock
it is a metamorphic rock
metamorphic rock
It is a Metamorphic rock
when sedimentary rocks get exposed to great heat and pressure, they become more consolidated (harder to weather). when igneous rock combines with sediments and the two are heated under pressure, they become one rock, a metamorphic rock
Any type of rock, igneous, metamorphic or sedimentary, can become eroded and re-deposited and cemented together to become a new sedimentary rock.
