However, if that same business ignores local charities and donates to other charities that are of a foreign nature, it might have a negative affect because local problems are being ignored.
It is my understanding that in a consumer society you can sell just about anything so long as a profit is realized without giving much thought to the moral or ethical implications involved. When you are socially responsible your main concern is the well being of the people first and foremost and only when this is fulfilled do you concern yourself with the commercial sale success of either a particular product or service.
