It's likely a bad cable off the #2 seat motor. See this link: http://www.volvo-forums.com/t18304-850-seat-back-cable-repair.htm
Most older taps use a soft washer which, when you turn the handle of the tap, is pressed down onto a valve seat in order to stop the flow. For more information, including a diagram, see the Related link shown below this answer.
There really does not... it depends on the type and size of the toilet, but as a rule of thumb that size covers most toilets, and is a comfortable distance to work for most situations.
Some have a small air cylinder abit like a door loser. others have a spring .
You should get a plunger stick it in the toilet and hold it in there till the water slows down and if that doesnt work close the toilet seat and wait til you hear a dweeling sound that means the water is going down.
I'm not familiar with this toilet, but you might try PlumbingSupply.com. There is one for an Elger that might work.
Try using Comet cleanser with bleach. It works great for cleaning hair color off counter tops, it might work for your toilet seat as well.
Toilet paper is designed to be soft and absorbent, and also to fall apart completely when it is wet, so that it moves with the water through a sewerage system.
I have used Cif (in England) Soft Scrub (in America) or any cleaning agent with grains in that can scrub the stain off. This is the only way. For a more natural cleaner, try a paste of bicarbonate of soda, this may work too, but Soft Scrub definitely did the job when I had to clean the toilets in a house I moved into. This basically scrubs the stain off so if the toilet is colored it may take the color off !
diseases work by spreading germs and other kind of icky things p.s. did u know that a telephone is dieter then a toilet seat jk ....jk
One toilet seat and one urinal are required for every 40 workers.

I need some toilet repair work done on my master bathroom. It seems the seat has cracked, so I want to just invest the $500 in putting in one of those heated toilet seats with the bidet and sprayer and all that fancy stuff. Do you need any special attachments to hook this up to your toilet or does it come ready to use? I fell in love with them when I visited Tokyo and I've always wanted one.
Depends on the design, but I suspect you set the seat height to the correct position and work from that, not use the waste as a height guide.
Used to work on trailers years ago and the pedal just opened a spring loaded valve in the bottom of the toilet. Check to make sure the linkage didn't come apart in the bottom of the toilet. Sorry to say but the toilet has to come off and apart. Be happy it's not the tank's bottom dump valve, at least you're on top....
