Soil helps the growth of plants although it depends on which kind of soil you use but any soil will work. For instance I use Miracle grow.
because plants use the soil and the plant puts other things in the soil
They decompose dead plants and animals and nutrients to plants and the soil
Because depends on how the soil is
Because depends on how the soil is
yes
Soil erosion carries top soil away, which is troublesome if were hoping to grow plants there.
it puts mercury in the soil, thus breaking and killing the soil
They stop it from happening. Or slow it. Their roots hold the soil in place.
Consistency of soil determines the way that moisture penetrates and is retained in soil, making it either possible for plants to grow
by adding new nutrients to the soil
Soil organisms affect the nutrients available to plants. In a hard rocky soil, absorption of water and oxygen is minimal. In a fertile soil, availability of water and oxygen is maximum which help in proper growth of plants. Even where the sun rays do not reach the soil adequately specially in dense forest, the soil organism is not conducive to nutrients available for palnts' growth.
