You have several options for starting a hotel chain. First, it is very important that you have worked in the industry and have considerable experience in hotel operations. If you do, you can either 1) become a franchisee and set up several locations, 2) launch and expand your own chain of hotels or 3) establish one or two hotels, get the operation down to a science and offer the business model as a franchise to others (basically other entrepreneurs will expand the brand for you). You might consider targeting a niche market, like baby boomers, families with young children, etc. Whatever you decide, you will need to have a business plan and the ability to finance the venture.
