This is a hard one, beliefs to others are superstitious beliefs, it really all depends on the person and how they perceive their own religious text. For example the Holy Ghost was created by the catholic church and had spread to other branches of Christianity but other religions perceive this "Holy Ghost" as a superstition of belief. It deprives from the phrase "The holy spirit has taken over me/the spirit runs through me" whenever someone gets an influx of emotion due to a powerful surge of love for Christ/god going through them, this is described as a possessive event, but because of the "possessive" nature of it, a lot of people just perceive the holy ghost as a ghost itself instead of what is was intended to be which would be just the spirit of god himself.
