How does the Spider Man black suit get a mind of its own?

You will probably hear two versions of this answer but the result is going to be the same. First version of the story of the Black Spider man suit was during the Secret Wars, Spidey suit was badly damage and inside this fortress that housed a "black ball" that was drawn to him and leaped right on him to form the black suit. But this is not the only version of the origin of the black suit.

The second is Spidey saves J Jonah Jameson's son from crashing the Space Shuttle into New York City and in the ship was also the mysterious black ball/substance that leaped onto Spidey , but this time it seeped into his DNA.

Now this is when both storyline come together. While wearing the black suit Spidey becomes stronger, but Peter Parker's personal life takes becomes more exhaustive and he is becoming very short tempered with everyone he loves. He soon finds out that along with some of the new things that the suit features (increased strength and the ability have the suit change into any outfit he could think of) when he would sleep the suit would wake up and drain his body and force him to sleep walk.

After discovering this he tried on his own to get rid of the suit only to find out that the only thing that the alien symbiote suit could not withstand was extreme decibels. He discovered this by swinging into a bell tower and the suit began to rip itself. With this knowledge he went to Dr. Reed Richards who designed a sound gun that blasted the suit right off of Peter Parker and contained it in the Baxter Building for future studies. Only to have the alien symbiote to escape and find a new host, Eddie Brock who was a competing photographer at the Daily Bugle that wanted Peter Parker top photographer spot) who became Venom. As Venom, Eddie Brock was able to communicate with the symbiote directly learned of all Spider Man secrets including his true identity and also had the capability to avoid the elusive "Spidey Sense".
