[Side note - I have recategorised this because the Fossa is not a feline. It is from the Mongoose family, namely a member of the Eupleridae family.]

The Fossa hunt and eat small and medium sized mammals, reptiles, birds and sometimes insects or even crabs.

They will hunt both on the ground and in trees, they will hunt in packs during breeding season and alone at other times.

The Eupleridae are related to the mongoose family, but are not true mongooses.
