It is believed that a large cloud of dust and gas which rotated slowly, began to contract because gravitational forces. Rotation increased causing a bulge in the center. At its end stages the mass of gases that gathered in the center created the sun with the planets forming from the bulge.

How is the term 'celestial body' defined?

A celestial body is a natural non-biological extraterrestrial physical structure that is typically observed in Earth's sky on a clear night. Celestial bodies are simple, macroscopic structures that are the subjects of study in astronomy and to a certain extent in physics and chemistry. Sometimes the Earth itself is referred to as a celestial body when the subject is the universe as a whole as in cosmology. Stars, planets, galaxies, nebulae, asteroids, comets, and black holes are all celestial bodies.

What is the idea that only visible things are real?

Eliminative materialism is the philosophy that says that only that which can be observed through the senses or experimentation can be said to be real. In many ways, modern scientific knowledge supports this. However, there are still certain things that cannot be observed yet, and only hold a basis in terms of effects or mathematical constructs extrapolated from physical effects (such as emergent phenomenon of consciousness from neural activity, superstring theory, etc.). Many of these phenomena are backed on rational bases, and it is believed that we simply do not currently possess the means of testing, observing, and quantifying various aspects of these phenomena yet (emphasis on the word "yet").
