Hot days cold night , because its on the leeward side of the mountain
The more amount of moisture is the longer the temperature can maintain because of the density of the air. The atmospheric moisture seems to act like a buffer. When the sun comes out the dryer air heats up quicker and there is nothing to keep the heat in.
Hey! I have the same Earth Science question. This is a tricky one...this is what I answered:
The more moisture the longer the temperature can remain the same since the density of air is greater and the water vapor molecules in the air have a higher specific heat Therefore, moist air takes a while to heat up and cool down. While dryer air heats up quicker when insolation (the sun's rays) strike the earth but nothing can hold this heat in, ultimatly causing the air to cool and condense. Therefore, the air has gone from being extremely hot to extremely cool, aka a large daily temperature range!
Good Luck in Earth Science!
Humid air acts as a blanket to hold in heat. When an area has little humidity any heat absorbed during the day will radiate back into space once the sun goes down.

The climate of Mesopotamia is Arid.
New Mexico has an arid and semi-arid climate.
Western Asia is mostly arid climate.

The meaning of semi arid and arid is the same
Mongolia is the only country with an entirely arid climate. The climate of Mongolia is entirely cold and arid that makes it suitable for transhumant grazing.
Arid & Semi-Arid
Arid climate region dominates most of Northern Africa.
