What causes covection currents?

Well, i don't know what causes them but i do know how they form.Convection currents are formed somewhere in the upper mantle below the asthenosphere and is called the mesosphere.the mantle material,(the hotter material) rises on the surface of the asthenosphere, and pushes the cooler material out of the way, sinking back into the Earth becoming more and less dense each time. Hope this helped! :)

What geological events occur because of covection currents in earths mantle?

hgbn

Which layer of the Earth do Covection Currents occur in?

The major ones involve the mantle and the oceanic crust.

What are effects of connection currents in the mantle?

The flow of mantle effects convection currents in the mantle. This process happens as hot material within the mantle begins to rise. As it rises, it begins to cool and then sinks. This process repeats as a cycle of convection currents.

How convection currents are caused and how they move material in the mantle and lithosphere?

Because the mantle and lithosphere have gases or liquids that circulate

How are convection currents caused and how do they move material in the mantle and lithosphere?

Because the mantle and lithosphere have gases or liquids that circulate

One hypothesis states that plate movements results from convection currents in the?

Earth's mantle. These convection currents are driven by heat from the Earth's core, which causes material in the mantle to become less dense and rise, and denser material to sink. This movement of the mantle material pushes and drags the tectonic plates along with it.

What is Circular movement of material inside Earth's mantle called?

What happens in the asthenosphere (part of the mantle) is called convection currents

How do changes in heat energy affect the density of earths mantle material?

How do changes in heat energy affect the density of earths mantle material

How does the mantle get energy to move in convection currents?

Its becomes the inner core and drifts

Does mantle material rise in convection currents because heated materials become more dense?

no

How does the temperature and density drive the convection currents in the mantle?

Temperature differences in the mantle drive convection currents because warm material is less dense and rises, while cooler material is more dense and sinks. This movement creates a circular flow as the cooler material sinks and gets heated, while the warmer material rises and cools down. The density variations caused by the temperature differences are a key driver of convection in the mantle.
