Tone
Satirical, Ironic, Tongue-in-cheek The tone in fact presumes naiveté in a way that smiles and winks at the reader. To use some buzz words, it is "cynical," "ironic," and "playful." And it cracks us up.
After the executions in "Animal Farm," the mood of the story becomes more somber and tense. The animals begin to fear Napoleon's growing power and the oppressive atmosphere on the farm increases. The sense of optimism and rebellion that was present earlier starts to fade away as the animals realize the harsh reality of their situation.
Happy
Boxer's tow mottos are: "Napoleon is always right!" and "I will work harder."
