The Earth's mantle is a plastic substance which undergoes convection due to the heat of the core. Warm material rises up from near the core to just under the crust. The heat that it carried from the core is released into the crust, thus warming the surface. The cooled material then descends back to the core.

What produces winds?

Wind is caused by the uneven heating of the Earths surface by the Sun.Trust me.I just got out of science class.Hope this helps!!

What is cooling the earths core?

The Earth's core cools primarily through a combination of conduction and convection. Heat from the core is conducted through the solid inner core and convected through the molten outer core, transferring heat towards the Earth's surface. This process helps maintain the Earth's internal temperature.

How does erosion help in bringing fossils to the earths surface?

erosion helps bring fossils to earths surface by when a animal dies it turns into a fossil

What is the process where cool dense material sinks and warm bouyant material rises?

Convection, hope this helps.

What is a constructive force caused by the convection currents in the earths mantle?

a constructive force is a natural event that helps the earth like wheathering

What are effects of convection currents in the mantle?

The effects of convection currents in the mantle are an overall movement of magma, the shifting of plates, and the even distribution of heat. This helps to reduce the amount of earthquakes and volcano eruptions.

What are fixed places on earths surface from which direction and locations can be discribedd?

It would be the reference point. Hope this helps :)

Earths lithosphere is broken into huge moving slabs of rock driven by motions in the mantle?

The motion in the mantle is known as convection currents which helps move earth's slabs, known as plates. Convection occurs in the upper mantle known as the asthenosphere.

What causes the creation of dome mountains?

the creation is cause but the movement of the plates under the earths surface hope that helps.

What is Natural convection?

Its a process for hot air rising, and cold air sinking hope this helps!:) Actually, it doesn't have to be air. Convection occurs in most liquids and gases. Magma beneath the Earth's crust is the best example of natural convection that I can come up with.

How do convection currents affect the lithosphere?

Convection currents in the asthenosphere helps form subduction zones at convergent boundaries and ridges at divergent boundaries. This slow and continuous convection causes the plates on earth's crust to move.
