Our Sun is basically an average star - nothing special about it. It's not a massive star and it's not a red dwarf, which is thankful as if it wasn't we wouldn't be around to appreciate it.

What happens when stars get together do they make a black hole?

If you mean the stars smashing together:Yes AND No, yes if the stars are neutron stars, they'll go supernova and cause a black hole.. or if the stars are white dwarf and bigger stars,no if the 2 stars are yellow main sequences. if main sequence yellows they'll make a blue star or a blue straggler.

What is the main source of the energy in the sun and other stars?

The main source of energy in the Sun and other stars is fusion of hydrogen atoms into helium atoms.

How do clusters of O and B stars compare to clusters of T Tauri stars?

T Tauri stars are pre-Main Sequence stars which are large but not as hot as O and B Main Sequence stars. They mainly fall in the categories of F, G, K or M, and they are not yet on the Main Sequence because they are still accreting mass and are still very young and unstable.

How do giants stars differ from main sequences stars?

Giant stars differ from main sequence stars primarily in size, luminosity, and temperature. While main sequence stars fuse hydrogen into helium in their cores, giants have exhausted their hydrogen and are now fusing heavier elements, leading to increased brightness and larger radii. Additionally, giant stars often have cooler surface temperatures compared to main sequence stars of similar mass due to their expanded size. This results in a distinct position on the Hertzsprung-Russell diagram, where giants occupy the upper regions compared to the more centralized position of main sequence stars.

Why do space have stars?

We have stars because the main star is the sun and there is other stars in space that are luminous globes of heat.

How does the sun compare to the other stars on the main sequence?

Our Sun is basically an average star - nothing special about it. It's not a massive star and it's not a red dwarf, which is thankful as if it wasn't we wouldn't be around to appreciate it.

How is the sun different from the stars?

Its not... the main thing it does is suppord life which other stars can possibly do, too.

How does the protostar stage of a stars life cycle compare with the main sequence stage?

A protostar generates energy by friction whereas a main sequence star generates energy by fusion.

How does the temperature and luminosity of the sun compare to that of the other stars on the main sequence?

The Sun, classified as a G-type main-sequence star (G dwarf), has a surface temperature of about 5,500 degrees Celsius and a luminosity of 1 solar unit. Compared to other main-sequence stars, the Sun is relatively average; hotter stars, like O and B types, exhibit much higher temperatures and luminosities, while cooler stars, such as K and M types, have lower temperatures and luminosities. Overall, the main sequence shows a correlation where higher temperatures correspond to greater luminosity, with the Sun positioned in the middle of this range.

How is the sun different from the other stars in the night sky?

The main difference between the sun and other stars is that the sun is much closer to us.

How many stars are in the constellation centaurs?

There are 12 stars that make up the constellations main outline, but there are many other stars "sprinkled" in among it.
