Could the sun expand and destroy all the planets?

There is no question that the sun will expand and destroy at least the inner planets. How large it will actually get and how many of the other planets it will actually "destroy" is still being kicked around. Certainly the earth - or at least its orbit (because the earth will be burned to nothing by then) - will be engulfed by our expanding and aging sun, but that's billions of years from now.

What will happen if earth was to close to the sun?

What would happen if the earth didn't have a magnetic field?

If we didn't have the earth's magnetic field, eventually all of the harmful and deadly rays from the sun would destroy life on earth.

How do you destoy earth?

It would be easy to destroy the Earth. Find another planet AT LEAST as big as Mars, and move it into a collision course with the Earth so that it hits Earth head-on at about 70,000 MPH. The collision would destroy both worlds, and drop the rubble into the Sun. Nothing less will destroy the Earth, which has ALREADY survived colliding with a planet the size of Mars. Nothing that human beings can do will destroy the Earth, even if we were really trying to. well, in theory, there are probably THOUSANDS of ways to destroy the earth, the longest way to do it without going into space would be(and don't get any ideas!) to dig so far down in a temperature defying suit that you reach the earth's core, and then somehow pull it out, throw it into the sun, or simply away into space, then the earth will get so cold (after time) life will be uninhabitable on it, and it will soon shrivle up and either fly out into space or crash into the sun. so there.

What can causes sun's death?

I am a ten year old girl the answer is quite simple you see scientist beleive how the sun will die is that five or so billion years from now the sun will become old and is converting hydrogen to helium. The outer layer starts to expand and cool glowing redder. While the sun is expanding it will destroy Mecury and Venus ,but scientist are not sure if it will reach Earth or not . Earth will either be destroy by the sun or be frozen .The reason why it could be frozen is because when the sun is done exspanding it will began to shrink smaller and smaller and sense the earth has no more warmth the earth will began to freeze.

What ten places can humans not destroy?

How does the earth live forever?

It won't. Eventually the sun will expand and will probably destroy Earth. Earth has been around for billions of years and is fairly durable as it is an extremely large mass of rock and metal. It would take quite a bit of energy to destroy something so big.

Could the sun fit between earth and venus?

Yes. With millions of miles to spare. Unfortunately, it would destroy life on Earth. -------------------------- The Sun regularly comes between the Earth and Venus. Because the two planets orbit the Sun at different speeds, sometimes Venus is on the opposite side. Life continues on Earth as per normal.
