DOS is a command line interface, Windows (starting at Win95) is a graphical user interface.
I can tell you that they were very basic but i think the first computer was made in 1917 or 1927 (i forget i read about it a long time ago) it was made by a genius kid who programmed it and everything it was the first programmable computer and it was nothing special to us but back then it was amazing i don't even think alot of computers then had displays!!
A Windows Boot Disk operates in DOS command line mode.
You can print out a hard copy of a visual information. But never with audio information.
CLI is Command Line Interface GUI is Graphical User Interface CLI - You type commands into a prompt and the computer executes them. GUI - You use a graphical interface and make selections with the mouse and the computer executes them. CLI example: MS-DOS GUI example: MS Windows XP
