How does tom walker die?

Tom Walker dies when he is not being fair to a person part of his investment. When the man accuses him of being unfair, he says that the devil take his soul if he is lying to him. At that very moment, the devil is there to take him, and the bibles to protect him are out of his reach. Before he can do anything, he is taken by the devil, put on the back of a horse and the horse rides away with the hollowing for Tom Walker. Now they say every time you stroll by that area, you can hear the galloping of a horse and the voice to Tom Walker.

In the short story The Devil and Tom Walker the character of Tom Walker dies by being carried off on a horse by the Devil. It is never told exactly how he dies but his ghost does haunt the old fortress where the Devils horse had disappeared with Tom on it.
