Different types of trash effects fish in different ways. The plastic rings that come around soda cans can greatly harm fish and even birds. If the plastic rings aren't cut then fish can be swimming and get then caught around there body. Once it is around them it gets stuck on there scales and then they wont be able to get them off which will cut off circulation.

∙ 9y agoTrash creates toxicity in the soil and water, which can make animals sick or prevent plants from growing, if there is enough trash. Trash can be harmful for animals on land, acting as a trap. For example, an animal trying to eat food residue out of a jar could get its head stuck and end up starving. If trash ends up in the water, fish or seagulls may end up eating it. The trash ends up trapped in the anima'ls stomach. Eventually, if the animal swallows enough trash, it has no room for actual food, and it can end up starving.
