Wind blows on a windmill or wind turbine and makes it rotate. This can be looked at the kinetic energy in the moving air being converted to the kinetic energy of the rotating vanes. The rotating turbine turns a shaft that turns (through gears) a electrical generator. The generator produces electricity. This can be seen as the kinetic energy of the rotating vanes transferred to the kinetic energy of the generator, which converts it to electrical power. The electrical power is then sent into the electric grid.
Wind energy can be used to power many things. Wind energy is produced by wind turbines that work opposite of fans.

The reason for that is because it may not be windy every day therefore he wind turbines will not work
Wind turbines operate on a simple principle. The energy in the wind turns two or three propeller-like blades around a rotor. The rotor is connected to the main shaft, which spins a generator to create electricity. Wind turbines are mounted on a tower to capture the most energy. At 100 feet (30 meters) or more above ground, they can take advantage of faster and less turbulent wind. Wind turbines can be used to produce electricity for a single home or building, or they can be connected to an electricity grid (shown here) for more widespread electricity distribution.

Wind is caused by huge convection currents in the Earth's atmosphere, driven by heat energy from the Sun. The moving air has huge amounts of kinetic energy, and this can be transferred into electrical energy using wind turbines. Wind turbines cannot work if there is no wind, or if the wind speed is so high it would damage them.
wind farms are built and turbines are put up. As the wind blows it turns the turbines generating electricity.

Wind and water force can be used to turn turbines which in turn produce electricity. I'm not entirely sure how turbines work but I believe that the turning motion produces kinetic energy which can be harnessed as electricity.
The demand for power goes down at night and the grid cannot use the unstable source of energy
One way we use wind energy is that it spins windimlls, generating energy that is stored in the turbines that are attached to the propeller. This energy is inehaustable, though it is only charged when the wind blows. I have seen large windmill fields on my travels, especially near Death Valley in Southern California.

They are collectively known as "Wind Farms".
solar pannles need sun to work. wind turbines need wind. And there is a few others about the waves and the sea but i have forgotten them.Hope i helped xxApeygal xx
