Most of the patients recover with in say three days clinically. This happens due to immune response of the body. But many becomes carrier of the strep throat causing bacteria. So the patient must get ten day course of tab penicillin or azithromycin or one of the other member of the macrolide group of antibiotic. Like roxithromycin, clarithromycin or erythromycin for ten days.

I think you can, just because your immune system can start to fight off the bacteria, but when your white cells become slightly at red falg levels your body will warn you with a FEVER so you can obtain medical intervention... Strep is also contatious, of course to a partner or sharing utensils or drinking cups without proper disinfecting... Hope this HELPS! Strep throat may become a bit calm, but will not clear up without ANTIBIOTICS ... When I had strep I never had a fever. But this could have been because i was treated very quickly.
