I would say that you shouldn't start breeding before 1 1/2 years old, any age before that is too young, and they need to mature, but after they do that, and have had at least 2 heats, and get used to it, then i would say its a good time to breed them.

How old can a scottish terrier be to have puppies?

A Scottish Terrier can typically start having puppies as early as 6 to 12 months of age, but it's generally recommended to wait until they are at least 2 years old for optimal health and maturity. Breeding at a younger age can pose health risks to both the mother and the puppies. It's also essential to consider the dog's overall health and temperament before breeding. Always consult with a veterinarian for guidance on responsible breeding practices.

Mice reach sexual maturity as early as 5-6 weeks old but I do not recommend breeding them until they are 10-12 weeks old because breeding them at an early age can cause serious problems such as stunted growth, death, and failure to give birth to all of the litter.
