Yes, my neighbors did it... it was not "easy", though. First the pool builder came in with jack hammers, and "pocked" the entire surface. My neighbors chose to convert the pool to a self-cleaning pool, so after chiseling the surface, the builder installed the self cleaning gear before pouring the new pool interior, so the pool lost about 4 - 6 inches in depth. Made a beautiful pool and was done in just a few days.
