An excavator is a large piece of machinery and needs to be operated by a competent person. Although a mini-excavator may be managed by an amateur when doing garden excavations etc., a large excavator should only be operated by a professional with appropriate training.
Most would definitely demand that you are properly trained to operate an excavator. Unless you plan on pursuing a license, I would try and find an alternate method.

i think it would be a draw.As harry does not knows how to operate alightsaber and Darth Vader does not knows how to operate a wand. But if i had to choose 1 i would choose harry as using a lightsaber is easy compared to a wand.
Practice practice practice. It takes awhile for your brain to learn the muscle patterns to opporate the controls but afterwards it's all muscle memory and second nature.
Possibly, if you are being aggressive with the excavator, setting the parking brake would take tension off the transmission though.
