Only as effective as the person undergoing the therapy will allow it to be. Anything that is meant to help a person's mind can only help if it can get past the mental blocks a person places on their own mind. If the person is truly open minded and trying to get help, it can be VERY effective, if they are there grudgingly and just going through the motions to fill a court order, it won't help at all.
