The Guitar Hero Guitar controller is unlike the wireless XBox 360 controllers when it comes to connecting. You have to press the connect button on your console (its marked with a small pattern that looks kind of like the WiFi sign), and then press and hold the connect button on your guitar controller (its located on the outer ridge close to where the start buttons is) while the green lights around the power button on your console flashes. Just repeat this until a green light stands still both on the console and your controller. Another problem I picked up is that if you start up your console with a normal remote, whether it is wired or wireless, the console recognizes the controller as the primary controller meaning that it would only take input from your guitar as the secondary controller in two player mode whether that be Co-op Career or Battle mode.
