The constellation Aries, like other constellations, are made up of several (or in some cases many) stars - each one having it's own unique distance from our planet. The constellations ONLY look the way they do from our perspective, here in our solar system. If you could fly out into space and look at Aires from a side view, you wouldn't be able to recognize it.

Any constellation is a group of stars that appear to form some kind of pattern,

but have no connection with each other. They all happen to be in roughly the

same direction from us, but they're all at different distances. So there's no

such thing as a constellation's distance from us.
