There should be a bracket mounted on the steering column near the floor. This will have a switch in it that is a plunger type. This is part of the neutral safety / transmission shift location switch / back up light switch. It is mounted on the transmission behind the shift sector shaft. The shift cable will run from the shifter to the transmission and this switch is mounted there on the side of the transmission.
