Well, It's best to read the full instruction in the pack, (such as what time of month to do it, etc) and to do at least 3..... Boots the chemist do double packs of pregnancy tests for under £5.

Hope this was slightly helpful :)

Yes. There are several things that can contribute to a negative pregnancy test even if you are pregnant. Some medications can give you a false negative, the timing of the test can affect the results. It is also possible if you have experienced a chemical pregnancy (meaning you lost the "baby" before it even implanted into the uterus). If you did not follow directions properly; if you let the test sit for too long the results may read negative after a while. It is important to read the results within the amount of time given on the instructions of that particular pregnancy test you bought. If you did not perform the test properly (example: you drank a lot of fluids before taking the test, which can dilute your urine). Etc To ensure the best results: * Take the test in the morning, if possible, because your hCG (pregnancy hormone) levels are at it's highest * Don't drink a bunch of fluids before taking the test because it will dilute your urine and can affect the results * Take the test no more than 1 day before expected period. Although some test say that you can see results up to 5 days before your missed period, the percentage of accuracy is very low. * urinate for as long as possible on the foam-like strip * Check the results in the window frame of time suggested by the instructions of the pregnancy test. . On rare occasions you can encounter a false positive due to improper testing, expired pregnancy tests, rare medical conditions such as certain types of cancer, evaporation lines, a recent pregnancy or a chemical pregnancy.

A HPT is accurate. However if you test too early (14-20 days after intercourse) you may get a negative result when you are pregnant. Its always advisable to test 3-4 weeks after intercourse.

Yea HPT work well if you wait till several days after your period should have started. Sometimes testing to early can give you inaccurate results because the HGC might not be high enough to be detected.

Will home pregnancy test work and if not right away how long?

It depends. Very early in a pregnancy they can be extremely inaccurate. When I was trying to find out if I was pregnant I took 6 pregnancy tests. 4 of them read negative and the other two read positive. I WAS pregnant. EPT usually seems to be very accurate. I suppose it depends how far along the woman is and which test they use.
