Worn valves will not seal completely, will not open completely, or open as far as they should. This will cause incomplete combustion, backfire of exhaust gasses, release of compression, and escape of oil into the combustion chamber. Engine will lack power and smoke.
Indefinitely, but you could create more damage to the valve train the longer you wait to repair/adjust the valves.
No closer than 500 feet if following one. If pulling to the side, go as far as possible to the side that is safe.
Luckily in the Geo the valves never travel down far enough for the piston to hit it so even with the timing belt broken its safe you can crank the car over til your blue in the face with out hurting anything.
All valves are made to be turned on as far as they can be.
Theoretically, it's possible to drive over 1500 miles in a 24 hour period but we don't recommend it. Anything over 500 miles a day is increasingly less safe.
Worn steering and/or suspension components. Don't drive that fast until you can have the problem repaired, and try to NOT drive very far.
For some not all, its safe for me so far
I wouldn't go that far. Have a mechanic check it out before you go a few hundred miles out of your way.
As far as is safe
It's hard to know for sure, but either the cam is pushing the valves open too far, the pistons are sticking out too far, or the cam timing is off.
