I am not sure what quote you are referring to. Mr. Obama has always been in favor of equality for everyone; he has given a number of speeches on the importance of equal pay for women, equal treatment of gay people, equal opportunity for minorities, and equal respect for those who are different. I don't recall him saying we should change equality, since he believes in equality. But he has certainly said we should support equal rights and equal treatment for immigrants, the poor, women, gay people, and others who are marginalized in some way.
